Tawas Creek Golf & Country Club Newsletter  January 2010

Happy New Year!!!!

Fall weather was pretty nice for a few weeks, and then it bottomed out to become winter.  It’s been cold long enough, and now that 2010 is here we are looking forward to warmer weather and seeing all of you.

We are planning some exciting outings, events and course upgrades that will make your season with us enjoyable.  We hope you will participate in many of them, and bring your friends.

We plan to rent portable outhouses that will  replace the older ones.  We are beginning to make plans to construct a new tee box on hole 4 in the fall.  We’ve also upgraded equipment to better maintain the course.

A new tee marker for #6 has been ordered by the Peterson family, in memory of Karl. We will have it in place by mid-May or earlier, depending on weather conditions.

Scotch Ball Tournaments were a great success last year.  We had over a dozen couples each time and fun was had by all.  We are looking forward to having 4 or 5 this year.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Scotch ball, it is played in teams of two; a man and woman.  Both drive their tee shot on each hole, then choose the shot they will play. Then they alternate shots until holing out.  We use a handicap system that allows every team to have a chance to win.  There are lots of prizes and fun!
